Happy New Year Y’all!
New year, new mood. I try to treat every day as a new start, but there is something so fresh about the start of a new year. It gives us a clean slate to let go of what is no longer serving us and step into what we want.
This year, I’m focusing on balance. The balance of raw linen with the elegance of gold. The rustic terra-cotta of Tuscany with the sophistication of travel and luxury. The perfect marriage of white flowers with rich greenery. Effort and ease.
I’m committed to keeping things simple. In a world that is focused on consuming I only want to bring what adds value to my space. Whether it’s in my closet or sitting on my shelf.
I have an affliction to a neutral palate and classic blue and white china. It’s in my blood. This year, I’m focusing on branching out to more texture and color in my design. I love simplicity and meaning, but I am craving more color in our home.
This front door is the perfect example of balanced color. The textures and rich tones of the runner with the bright baby blue door are perfectly matched. I love the aged brass door handles and the metal of the light fixtures with the crisp white paint and the rustic wood beams. Sheer perfection.
As most of you know, I am a sucker for the classics. My 2019 Mood playlist is John Mayer vibe meets Aretha Franklin soul and I am playing it on repeat. Here is the link if you want to listen along too.
I hope this gave you some inspiration and I can’t wait to see where this year takes my design. What is inspiring you this year?
XO
