Thank you for all the feedback on my insta stories! It means so much to me that every time I ask how things are working you guys are honest with me. Do I love to style my home and share with all of you? Hell yes! But, I also believe in using my voice and platform to serve a greater purpose. Sharing tools that have increased my ability to love my life more is my way living into my purpose.
January was a mental struggle for me. To give you some perspective, I opened up a seasonal lululemon pop up store in Wesley Chapel, Florida and it was full of learnings. I started my role in September and it all came to an emotional close on January 31st. It was heartbreaking and relieving all at once. My right wisdom tooth and side of my jaw gave me severe pain at the same time as catching the flu. I didn’t work out as much as I thought I “should” have. Don’t you hate when we “should” ourselves? Alton and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on January 27th and I paid off all my credit card debt on January 15th. So, thank you January for the learnings, celebrations, and struggles.
January’s focus was all about perspective. Live in the moment, but don’t loose sight of your vision for the future. Why is it that when we can see an end in sight it encourages us to soak life up? All I could think of the entire month was “I’ll never have this time back, how can I make the best of it?” I only adopted that mindset because I could see the end of my day to day routine as I knew it. Now that I’ve experienced how truly living in the moment can bring so much fulfillment, I’m challenging myself to always live in the present.
Development tools I’m currently loving:
- The Increase your Impact Podcast with Justin Su’a is an easy daily listen. With new episodes airing Monday-Friday, they are only 4-6 minutes long which is the perfect amount of time to listen on the go. I usually love a good long and juicy development podcast, but this one has been resonating with me lately.
- Have y’all heard of the Medical Medium? If you haven’t you need to go follow him on instagram! I want to read his book and learn more about the healing path that is a natural way of living for optimal health both spiritually and physically. Right now, I’m drinking celery juice which is a huge craze right now and for good reason! “Celery juice is an alkalizing, enzyme-rich, electrolyte-enhancing, liver-repairing, blood-sugar-balancing, antiseptic, strongly alkaline & inflammatory drink.” –Medical Medium. I have seen a huge difference in my digestion in just a few weeks of drinking nothing but celery juice and waiting at least 30 minutes to eat or drink anything else first thing in the morning.
- My regional manager recently forwarded me Dose Coaching’s Morning Cup. Basically, it’s the best email I’ve ever subscribed to. They are a neuroscience-based business/leader coaching firm that sends out free “doses” of inspiration. They seem to send them out bi-weekly, but they always hit me like a ton of bricks. You don’t have to subscribe (I highly recommend it) but you should read a few of their blog posts. My favorite one that I go back and re-read often is this one. If you’re going through a lot of change or are simply curious this one is a must-read.
My hope is that these posts leave you with more than you came here for. Also, that you share these tools with people who are thirsty for growth or really need them.
