As much as I would love to share a magical product that instantly increases hair growth it just doesn’t exist. To be completely honest with you, I don’t use many products on my hair. I’ve tried many, many different products that have been buzzed about that just simply didn’t work for me. Hair is so subjective and I get a lot of questions about my hair and what I do. If I can share anything that is helpful to someone else I absolutely will, but as a disclaimer, this is what works for me and it may not for you.
If I can tell you one thing to do for your hair it would be to take Collagen Peptides. I put one scoop of this powder in my coffee everyday and I’ve seen a huge difference in my hair growth. I’ve taken it for 2 years now and my hair is the healthiest it’s been in my life.
The other single greatest thing I’ve done for my hair was purchasing this filter. The water in Florida is horrendous and when I moved here I broke out like nobody’s business and my hair was in the worst shape it’s ever been. After getting this, everything changed for the better. It single-handedly brought my hair back to life.
When I wash my hair there are 4 things I use that have made a difference in the frizziness of my hair. I have very thick and very course hair. If you’ve every felt a horse’s tail that’s the texture of my hair.
- Before I wash my hair, I put this mask on my hair for at least 30 minutes. I only use it about every other time I wash my hair- which I only wash my hair about once every 5 or 6 days. I find this mask helps with frizziness and softness. Without it, my hair is even drier and I usually have a halo of frizzy hair around my head.
- After I wash my hair with this shampoo and this conditioner, I use this leave in heat protectant. I have always bleached my hair with highlights and this heat protectant is the only one that I have ever truly seen a difference with. I have re-ordered twice, and that’s saying a lot. I’m constantly changing my routine and trying new things, but I will never not put this on my hair after I shower. I haven’t had a haircut in over a year and I have minimal split ends. I owe most of it to this baby.
- When my hair is about 80% dry, I rub this oil mostly on the ends and the rest all over. I also use it throughout the week when I feel like my hair needs some life. This oil makes my hair shiny and super soft, and that’s not natural for me! A little goes a long way too. I’ve had this bottle since June it’s 3/4 full and I use it multiple times a week.
- I have been sleeping on this pillow case every night for 5 years. The satin reduces wrinkles and frizz in my hair. When I tell you I can see a huge difference when I don’t sleep on it, I mean it. Over the years I have learned to pack it wherever I go. A little high maintenance? Maybe. Who has the time for a bad hair day?
I’m not a beauty blogger and I really don’t put too much effort and time into styling my hair. I’ve gotten a lot of questions lately about what products I use and I’ve struggled with finding what can tame this mane. I finally feel like I’ve got a routine I’m happy with! Take what you want from this & leave the rest.
